Kennedy 2nd, Whitford 3rd as Chargers Wrap Up Fall Schedule

Kelli Kennedy (Henry, Ill./Henry-Senachwine) was runner-up and Elizabeth Whitford (Dahinda, Ill./Galva) finished third for the Carl Sandburg College women’s golf team Thursday at the DACC Fall Invite as the Chargers concluded their fall season.
Kennedy, coming off a third-place showing on Sunday, shot a 92 on the par-72 Danville Country Club. She finished eight strokes back of medalist Mackenzie McCoy of Danville Area.
Whitford came in third after posting a 96, and sophomore Rylee Liles (Hennepin, Ill./Putnam County) was fourth with a 97 for the Chargers. Freshman Averi Heintzelman (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) shot 107 to take sixth.
Sandburg was the only school that fielded a full squad, so no teams scores were kept. The meet also included players from Danville Area, Kishwaukee and Bryant & Stratton.
